You can define certain constraints on your schedule activities so that, in combination with predecessors, they behave exactly as you intended when changes are made to the schedule. Types of constraints significantly increase the complexity of the schedule and should only be set consciously.
In order to be able to add constraint types to tasks, you must be
in the project group "Project management". Types of constraints
are only possible if the mode of the schedule is set to
"Automatic".
You will soon be able to find the training video for the article here.
Click path:
- Workspace planning > select project > schedules > select schedule > open "navigation bar" > mark task
- In the Type of constraint-field, select from the following types of restriction:
- As soon as possible: The standard type of restriction in the schedule and in forward scheduling
- Must start on
- Start no later than
- As late as possible
- Must finish on
- Finish no earlier than: This type of restriction is set automatically as soon as you change the end date of a schedule activity.
- Finish no later than
- Start no earlier than: This type of restriction is set automatically as soon as you change the start date of a schedule activity.
- You can then select the restriction date. With the restriction type "Finish no earlier than" and "Start no earlier than", the constraint date is automatically adopted if you change the start or end date.
- If a type of restriction is assigned to an tasks, this is displayed in the schedule in the second column (exceptions: "As early as possible" and As late as possible "). In the "C-Type" and "C-Date" columns, the Information on the type of restriction of the operation is displayed.
