Schedule project members or even assets in your project to get an overview of over- or undercapacities.
To add resources to tasks you only need access rights to the
schedule. Members of the project management team can add all
resources to all tasks, members of other project groups can
only add resources from their own project group to the tasks
that have been assigned to the group.
Soon you will be able to find the training video for the article here.
Click Path:
- Workspace Planning > Select project > Schedules > Open schedule
- There are 2 ways to add resources/groups to your tasks:
- Double-click on the bar of the task or select a task and open the "Navigation Bar". In the third tab "Resources" click on Add. Either select a team to grant access (according to the permission concept) to this task or select a single person from your project teams that you want to assign explicitly to the task. Specify the percentage of the resource to be assigned to the task. This means: For the selected task 4 hours are scheduled and a resource is assigned to 50%. Then the total number of hours assigned to the resource is 4 hours * 50% = 2 hours. A resource can only be assigned up to 8 hours in one operation on one day. - Right-click on a Task and select Assign Resources/Teams. Now you have the possibility to select groups or resources. If you select a resource, it will automatically be assigned 100% to this task. You have to choose whether you want to add your selection to already assigned resources ("Append") or replace already assigned resources ("Replace"). This type of resource assignment allows you to quickly add resources to multiple tasks by selecting multiple tasks before clicking the right mouse button. - When you allocate a resource to a task, the team of the resource is always automatically assigned to the task and has access to it in the schedule (according to the permission concept).
